SLGA
70 years
1954--2024!
Can you believe SLGA is getting ready to start our 70th season? I can't imagine that our foundress Lu Graebner would have dreamed her vision would extend this far into the future. Even though she may not have realized it, her gem of an idea has now become platinum! Lu, you have done the women of this area one of the greatest golf-related favors ever!!
Even though we have a lot to sift through before we begin competing, it is just good to be able to think golf again. By now, you should all have received your Membership and TEF forms and may even have begun completing them. As you see, the dues remain the same at $35 for all new and existing members. We (the board) also discussed the TEF payouts, etc., and have voted the raise the TEF fees to $3 per tournament due to the fact that we are paying the same amount ($90 per week; more if there are ties) and have substantially less members joining. 2023 had 50 registered members and collected about $1500 for TEF; our total TEF payment was a minimum of $1620. Although we had "leftover" monies the cover the overage, that luxury is now gone, hence, the price increase.
We are doing our best to make this 70th anniversary year as seamless as possible. If anyone has any suggestions to help smooth our any rough areas, please do not hesitate to contact us. Also it you know anyone who wishes to join SLGA, please pass on their information so we may contact them.
See you there!
